Class description

Afro-Fusion Dance Class
This class teaches selections of Oriki's repertoire; Afro-Cuban traditional movements; and modern/contemporary dance technique. Combinations are taught incorporating these techniques fused together. This class works on choreography. Class is open-level taught by Jennifer.

Cuban Salsa, Son y Timba
This is an open-level class taught by Pupy.

Traditional Afro-Cuban
This class explores the traditions of the Yoruba, Dahomey, and Bantu in the Cuban culture. Dance movement and technique for the Orisha, Palo, and Arrara are taught. This class breaks down each element of the dance and explains the history of the dance and the intension of the movement.This is an open-level class taught by Jennifer.

Rumba Dance Class
This class works on phrases and combinations using Rumba technique and form through the study of Yambu, Guaguanco, and Columbia.This class aims to inspirer the spontaneity and inventiveness of the dancer. This is an open-level class taught by Pupy.

Afro-Rhythm and Movement Class
This class combines movements including but not limited to Rumba, Danzon, Son, Contradansa, Dances for the Orisha, Palo Bantu, and Dahomey traditions as well as elements of contemporary ballet and some modern. This class works on across-the-floor movements as well as choreographic staging and other devices.This is an open-level class taught by Pupy.

Percussion Class
This teaches rhythms including Rumba, Bembe, Iyesa, and Palo. Classes are taught using bell, clave, cajon, and conga's. There are a limited amount of conga's in the studio. Email Jennifer if you are interested and do not have a drum. This is an open-level class taught by Pupy.
